The first impression

Guests meet your listing as a thumbnail.

Before anyone reads your description, your cover photo sits in a grid of similar stays, usually on a phone. Toggle the cover to see the difference at the size that matters.

  • 01

    Light reads first

At thumbnail size, a dark or colour-cast photo looks like a dark, dated space, whatever the room is really like.

  • 02

    Straight lines read as care

Leaning walls and tilted horizons are noticed before anything else, even when guests can’t say why.

  • 03

    One reason to tap

The cover should show the property’s strongest real feature, like the lit porch, not just “a building in the trees”.

Ideal guests: Couples, families and small groups looking for a quiet mountain getaway.

The brief

The (fictional) host has a beautiful cabin but a gallery of phone photos taken at different times of day: tilted walls, mixed colour casts, dark bedrooms and a hot tub shot in harsh noon light. The goal: a truthful gallery that looks as good as the stay feels — without adding anything that isn’t there.

What was holding the listing back

  1. 01

    Inconsistent colour

Warm tungsten in one room, cold daylight in the next. The gallery feels like five different houses.

  2. 02

    Leaning verticals

Walls and window frames tilt inward, which reads as amateur at thumbnail size.

  3. 03

    Lost detail

Dark corners and noisy shadows hide the timber, the stonework and the view.

  4. 04

    Weak cover image

The first photo guests see doesn’t show what makes the cabin special.

Before & after

Six rooms. One consistent, truthful gallery.

Every edit is a correction, not a fabrication: light, colour, perspective and framing. Nothing is added to the property that isn’t already there.

How these examples were made: The photos are openly licensed stock images of different locations, chosen to stand in for one cabin. Each “before” image was made by deliberately degrading the professional photo to imitate common problems in unedited listing photos. Real client results depend on the quality of the original material.

For property owners

Better Visuals. A Better First Impression.

Your photos are often the first thing a guest judges. Here’s what professional visuals can realistically do for a listing, and what they can’t.

  • 01

    A stronger first impression

Guests scan dozens of thumbnails quickly. A clear, well-lit cover photo gives your listing a better chance of being opened.

  • 02

A gallery that feels like one place

Consistent colour and framing across every room makes the property easier to understand and more trustworthy to browse.

  • 03

    Amenities you can actually see

The hot tub, the fireplace and the view are already there. Good editing makes sure guests notice them.

  • 04

    Content for social media

Short vertical cuts and stills sized for Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest, made from the same approved material.

  • 05

    Reusable assets

Correctly sized files for your own website, direct-booking pages, email and print, organised and named.

  • 06

    Time back for hosting

Less time spent editing, resizing and organising photos, so you can focus on guests and operations.

  • 07

    A foundation for testing

Several strong cover-photo options and creative variants make it easier to try alternatives and compare over time.

  • An honest note on bookings

Strong visuals may encourage more guests to open and explore your listing. They don’t decide the booking on their own.

Better photos may help a listing make a stronger first impression, but bookings also depend on pricing, reviews, location, availability, amenities, competition and guest experience. We make no guarantee of bookings, revenue or ranking.

FAQ

Questions hosts ask us.

Do you need to visit my property?

No. Our core service works with photos and footage you supply. On-site photography or filming can be quoted separately where it makes sense.

Will the edits misrepresent my property?

No. We correct light, colour, perspective and composition. We don’t add rooms, views, amenities or furniture that aren’t there, and we don’t hide damage or permanent features guests will notice on arrival.

Do you use AI?

We use AI-assisted tools where they help — for example noise reduction, masking and upscaling — always reviewed by a person and always within the truthful-representation rule above. Any AI-generated concept imagery is labelled as such and never presented as your property.

Will better photos increase my bookings?

We can’t promise that, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Stronger visuals may help more guests open and explore your listing, but bookings also depend on price, reviews, location, availability, amenities and competition.

What if my original photos are low quality?

Editing can improve exposure, colour and framing, but it can’t recover detail that was never captured. The audit tells you honestly which photos are worth editing and which are worth retaking.

Can you make a video if I only have photos?

Yes, a photo-based motion piece is possible, but a true walkthrough video needs footage. We’ll recommend the best option for what you have.

How long does it take?

Turnaround depends on package and volume. We confirm a delivery date in the proposal before any work starts.

Who owns the final files?

You receive a licence to use the delivered assets for marketing your property. Any third-party music or stock assets follow their own licence terms, which we’ll explain in the proposal.

Sample audit · The Cedar EscapeFictional example
  1. Cover photoBiggest win

The dusk exterior is tilted and blue-grey, so the lit porch, the cabin’s best feature, gets lost.

Recommendation: Lead with the corrected dusk exterior, cropped toward the porch.

  2. Gallery orderQuick fix

The hot tub, which most guests here look for, doesn’t appear until photo nine.

Recommendation: Move the deck and hot tub into the first five photos.

  3. BedroomsEdit or reshoot

Both bedrooms are underexposed, with a green tint from mixed lighting.

Recommendation: Correct the colour in the edit; reshoot one bedroom in daylight if you can.
